MuslimMatters has some pretty awesome articles up on their site, regarding Ramadan.
I need to be more productive during my fasts. So lazy. Trying to review tafseer of the 30th juz and listening to lectures.
Here’s a list of easy good deeds to do this Ramadan (or any Ramadan for that matter) and getting a lot of [...]

Back again after a long long interval. sigh. Not good to have these phases. Also, wordpress is not being nice; I hope this gets posted.
Alhamdulillah I am really excited about Ramadan this time round. A lot of things to improve upon inshaAllah…a lot of resources to refer to, mainly:

We sometimes forget about this aspect of Islam. Our Deen does not restrict us from being beautiful. It is narrated in Saheeh Muslim that the Prophet sall Allahu alayhi wa sallam said:
“Indeed Allah is Beautiful and loves beauty.”
Although we cannot see Allah, we can see the beauty He has created, all around us. We can [...]

It’s such a sensational feeling when you forget, even for just a second, your surroundings and the people rushing about…and you perceive with your deepest senses that Allah is watching you now, at this very moment when you are thinking of Him…and you know that HE is listening to all that you are whispering to [...]

When Allah created me, He did not consult my father, so why should I consult my father in order to serve Allah?

It’s good to have a change of scenery sometimes when you’re praying. I wasn’t really able to concentrate much at home in my salah…I finally went to the masjid today after months! and it felt soo good alhamdulillah :) I think I should make it a point to go every week or every two weeks. [...]

Bismillah
I was reading the tafseer of a beautiful surah this morning…it is one of my favorite from the last juz. The comparison between the blessed and the damned on the Day of Judgement is highlighted in it.

I thought I’d write down some tafseer I was reading a few days ago from my notes, I do remember that it didn’t particularly affect me when I was studying it but this time around, it did. That is the beauty of the Qur’an, isn’t it…you learn something new everytime.
So the ayahs I read were [...]

It’s Friday, so I thought I’d put up a reminder of stuff that should be done on Fridays. This is for myself first, because I am really lazy in reciting the whole of Surah Al-Kahf; I usually stick to reciting the first and last 10 verses.
The Messenger of Allah (sallAllahu alayhi wasallam) said:

My mom told me a true scary story. I mean, it really scared me, and I hope it stays that way.
There was an old lady and everyone in her community said she was so kind to everyone, and would always be reading Qur’an and praying, never missing her Salah. When she was dying, she was [...]
